Russians have hardship engrained. War is always a fear for them because of what theu’ve been through in WW2. They will not renounce Putin so easily because they believe him when he says this is to avoid a bigger war with NATO

how does stopping selling food in russia punish putin exactly? he’ll just have to switch to eating only the finest caviar domestically sourced instead of cereals? I find it morally questionable that all these corps stopped business in Russ

why do the hackers disclose the hack though? why not keep it silent and abuse more seems pretty easy to hack a SaaS anyway. just need to phish an engineering employee account. often they have superuser access to debug customer issues

yeah that talk is designed to reinforce your bias by mixing a bit of history to make it look scientific. just watch a real history of Russia lecture. you’re basically watching a history lecture from a career spy instead of from a historian.

My point was the explanations in the video are shower thoughts. If you want to understand why Russia is how it is just read a real history work on Russia not this guy’s shower thoughts

a search engine is meant for searching text about whatever I ask it. I don’t need it to vet the result based on geopolitics. If I search for “Putin invasion speech” I want articles that show me what Putin said about the invasion ranked

BBC is just way way better at it, way more subtle, having been doing this for 100 years. When push comes to shove they toe the line just like Russian or Chinese media. RT just doesn't have the same funding or talent to make stories mor

well Russia has the money for now, but the West seized it or just refuses to accept any payments from Russia. so it'll only be in "default" for whoever doesn't want to get paid. pretty sure they will pay Chinese investor

considering USSR got the brunt of WW2, it's not that bad. peak of USSR was in the 60s anyway, so you should compare at that time. in the 90s, USSR didn't exist anymore

so when Russia constantly says that the West is out to get them, they might actually be right? if FB is so blatant about supporting (yeah, in some countries) violence against Russians, I can't even imagine what goes on in secret.

the USSR didn't do too bad. NK just didn't start with much. Russia has a lot of tech. but look at NK: they have internet, developed nuclear weapons, trying to launch satellites, surviving covid (I assume), did not get invaded by U

the leaders of the West are so bad at their jobs of keeping the West safe. the old leaders knew not to push Russia into a corner, considering they got nukes. for example, they made sure the fall of USSR was not too chaotic. the leaders we g

it’s not that Russia can’t pay. the article says Russia probably will choose not to pay. So I don’t think those things apply; it’s not a typical default

sounds like the prediction is that Russia will choose not to pay not that it can’t pay. since the West is confiscating all assets it doesn’t make sense to keep paying debt to the West indeed

yes, whether Ukraine would actually launch such a bomb is debatable. it's not like it would change the tide of the war, it would be mostly for revenge. war is very unpredictable. I wouldn't rule out anything.

anything is possible in war. if Ukraine was on the brink of losing everything and they had nuclear weapons, would they not use them against Russia? that's the whole point. if your state is about to cease to exist, you are desperate. fo

yeah, it’s full throttle on domestic propaganda. it looks like NATO is eager to go to war with Russia. NATO could have avoided this war easily by giving some symbolic win to Russia, placing some sanctions and moving on. but they don’t budge

sorry to ruin your hope but it’s unlikely Russia will accept defeat here. they will go in with all they have. nothing to lose anymore.
