Thanks, that is a very insightful and a helpful comment. It's happening a lot less for me these days, but have had a recent resurfacing. Physical exercise and mindfulness can be great helpers, and making time for them even when there d

Interesting. As a dev, anxiety can (edit: sometimes) cause stresses to build up to the point where thinking can be hard. Which is exactly the wrong thing for when you need to tackle complex problems. I've found it's easier to get

Absolutely. I see a few people running Linux on their desktop, but the majority are on OSX. The Linux / Windows world offers more performance for significantly less money, if you're prepared to learn about hardware. I find it so

It also lets you build bloody good ones. The 3950X will be a ripper when it's out, couple that with a PCIE4 nvme, 3600 MHz DDR4 and you'll have screaming performance for a relatively modest budget that'd cost you a mortgage a

I for one am finding W10 with WSL, Docker and the new Console fantastic. Can't wait for WSL2 in 2020 with half second Docker starts++.

I for one can't stand their closed eco system and am not impressed by the way Apple is merely picking features that others have funneled through their own innovation processes (seeing what works, what doesn't) - furthermore claimi

Coming from a number of Pebbles, when the last one died it was a requirement for me by then that a smart watch should be able to always display the time. Call me old fashioned if you must. I disabled gesture based display on (with night mod

Unlike the Samsung Watch which will do several days with always on display, GPS enabled. But congratulations to Apple for finally making their watches usable as, well, a watch.

Thanks, will need to check it out as well. I seem to spend a fair amount of time organising my Terminal windows just so on my second screen; would like to make this more efficient.

Yep, I have one of those - 3440 x 1440 is fantastic for dev, and now there are even bigger ones as well available. I have a couple of 16:10 ones surrounding it.

Thanks for sharing; I particularly like the looks of FancyZones - it'll really save me time arranging my Terminal windows etc, and also assist setting up standard layouts of working.

I have a mobile computer aka phone with a ToF sensor built in - the Samsung S10 5G. The Live Focus mode is a bit hit and miss, but like with any piece of equipment you learn to work with it - and the results can be astounding. The quality c

It'll be interesting to see how long Bluetooth headphones will last. You lose one vulnerability (the darned cable) and replace it with another (battery).

My Hifi system is 22 years old now, and going strong. Rotel and Infinity built some seriously good stuff back then. I'm afraid of how much it'll cost me to replace it when it eventually breaks, if I can't fix it. Have already

Google has lost any connection to their once oh so brightly glowing halo. As a developer I am steering clear of Google Cloud partly because of all their crappy way of dealing with humans. AWS and Azure just make more sense down here in Me
