My apologies, I read your post and understood the bot access part. However the timing of it sure as looked smelly to me, that's why I wrote "supposed". I probably shouldn't have speculated it was all a set up, but even i

"Gave" is generous in that it fails to mention how that access was gained - supposedly needed for a tooling account to ensure inclusion/code of conduct guidelines being followed, IIRC? Smacks of social engineering to me.

Article has a whole section on how @dnfadmin was given owner access, in a sneaky way (for a different context) - and how that was a mistake.

These model numbers are rife, and hardly unique to the brands. If you were to shorten Tesla's Model 3, you'd have the TM3. And back to Mazda, they have a very successful "3" that _could_ be described as an M3. :) If anyt

Thanks! Coming in to this cold: Starting with reading the apology and the first few comments on that page, then back here down to yours. This paints a totally different picture to the impressions I got from the preceding steps; I can fully

I (closer to 50) always straight up say I've got two young kids and that I partake actively in their upbringing. One of them with special needs, even. For me that helps filter out workplaces that would not be a good fit for myself. The

Getting closer to 50 here and finding value in looking after my health. Quit all alcohol nearly a year ago, kept my lifting steady and am now getting close to setting some life long PBs for strength. (Barbell Prescription, garage gym). This

Can confirm. Moved houses something about ten years ago, only a few kms, and Google Maps kept on saying I was at my old address. I used location sharing actively then as now, found it mostly annoying - but also learnt how they built up thei

I am in exactly the same boat. I did order the new one as well though, the version with the light sensors, because I like reading at night and the current light is too blue for my liking. The extra display size is a great bonus, and can I j

It would almost be amiss not to mention the amazing work done by Asobo and Microsoft on Flight Simulator 2020 in this context. The whole world has come to life with such beauty as I would never have been able to imagine when I first saw Fli

Nice. This was a reminder to check my own Samsung browser setting; smart anti tracking was only in secret mode. Now set to always. Hopefully they'll make this the default too.

Rossmann was excited by it too: https://youtu.be/vQLws5KfntE Very entertaining, and enlightening watch. (A comment on the initial part of the video: Lenovo's X1 Carbon Nano has good aspect ratio screen.)

USB C and colour temperature? I gave up waiting for this and ordered the Paperwhite with a leather cover a couple of months ago on special. I had the strongest feeling I'd regret not waiting longer, and it has thus been proven correct.

I've got YouTube plus at least, it helps somewhat to filter out some rather toxic advertising. Whoever started pushing WorkSafe ads into this platform, I do not wish well for. It's the stuff of true nightmares, the sum of their wo

I'm SO feeling this topic. I'm finding it hard to control my son's YouTube access when he's given legitimate school assignments that need this access. It makes me wish education could just skip all of Google altogether.

I fail to see the downside of choice. It's fair enough that the manufacturer provides their basic out of the box apps, and no-one forces you to use others than Samsung's. If you don't want to use the Samsung versions, they&#

Samsung Internet is actually surprisingly good. Highly performant, and a plethora built in adblockers (sadly not Origin). Night mode works across all sites, it clearly was written by a team enthusiastic about their jobs.

There's a very Australian term that perfectly describes Apple at this point, similar to Punts but starting with a C. That's exactly what they are, for pulling off stuff like this. They're clearly abusing their monopoly here.

I have an "older" (not really that old, an S10 5G) phone that I keep as a backup. It didn't need anything to start being usable after a full reset, not even a sim card; you just had to skip all the login prompts.
