I don't think government shutdown affects VISA processing. What I've heard is that VISA processing is funded by the application cost itself.

Microsoft probably has tons of internal libraries that are modified and shared between many different teams spanning multiple orgs. I think a pivot like this is an incredibly complicated thing for a company like Microsoft to perform. It req

Yes, but it is very difficult to introduce the same kind of bugs in Go code considering you are no longer doing intricate memory management, etc.

> Every single encounter I have had with Go has been a burning pile of unpleasantness. Can you elaborate? > It may be fast but it's fragile FWIW. Go explicitly focuses on language stability over fancy new features.

It's actually a very attractive option for people who are stuck in the EB-2 GC queue in the US. For instance, you could wait in the US for 15 years on a H1-B unable to open your own business, or you could move to Toronto on Express Ent

There is a NFC Yubikey which you can tap against your phone to log in. There is also a bluetooth version which is not manufactured by Yubikey. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYV6TQM/?coliid=I3IA8VD7QRRZDT&...

My mind was blown when I found out how easy it was to get started using pre-trained Glove embedding in Keras. Took my Kaggle game up a few notches over-night. https://blog.keras.io/using-pre-trained-word-embeddings-in-a...

I'm sorry, this is terrible advice. Trust me, the interviewer is never gonna pile up requirements on you. In fact, they are trained to ensure that what they ask can be completed in the time allotted (with time to spare for candidate&#x

If you are faced with a question like this in a Google interview, and you simply state the answer above right away, you are only solving part of the problem. A Google interviewer expects you to ask questions and clarify any simplifying assu

I think it's not just the UK. In fact, in many countries you don't have enough protections for security researchers. So no one bothers reporting these things because it would get you in trouble.

Best advice you can give to less technical friends is to just use a ChromeBook / Windows 10S device / or iPad. General purpose computers are no longer necessary for a significant chunk of consumers.

This isn't uncommon in large tech companies. People 1-2 levels from the CEO tend to have a chief of staff. Out of curiosity, why do you assume the person is a "he"?

Yes, although there is some portability, you still have to apply, interview and get a job within 30 days. That's not feasible, and doesn't give you enough room to find a good job and negotiate salary from a point of strength.
