Perhaps trying to balance the “capture” of SV engineers? We wouldn’t want the world to fall over if the population balance got out of whack, right?

It's funny, because the received wisdom in the industry is that Apple behaves exactly this way. I guess not in their production environment!

I don’t understand how we can observe something (“warm spots”) that by its construction should be unobservable. If it’s observable, doesn’t it exist in normal time/space?

Yes, in your first example this is known as “value-based pricing.” However, when it comes to quantum computing, they may be trying to determine if your application is even relevant to their solution.

Google has specifically said it _won't_ do this sort of thing (health data will not be made available for advertising, either within Google or [obviously] externally).

This answer is fine as far as it goes, but it ignores the loss of precision involved if you iteratively compute with it. This does happen, even in contexts that NASA cares about. Hopefully they look for this, or they will find they've

Most everything has pros and cons but apparently Swift System has no cons! Amazing! “... provides idiomatic interfaces to system calls and low-level currency types.”

EV models of such vehicles are starting to be produced in "demo" models now, so it doesn't seem like a technical barrier to have them in mass production by the time this takes effect.

One thing people clearly step around discussing is that the darkness of your skin is literally one of the main UC signifiers. Lighter skinned individuals are assumed to be UC. So yes, this is a lot like racism in America.

At Google you get interviewed (usually only one round with multiple people in it) and then your interview feedback goes to a hiring committee and they make the decision. Could the hiring committee identify you as UC? Quite likely based on s

Permits are often time-consuming to get and can be expensive. If you go shopping on price, you will likely find contractors who believe the best thing they can do for you is to avoid the time and expense. After all "I'm going to b

As the many responses indicate, you've set the bar way too high here. A more narrow question could be something like: "Did someone ever find an exploitable bug of the type it was intended to be safe from ?" In other words, a

This goes back to 10 years ago now. It’s nice to see some improvement, but 10 years ago there was very little interest in these sorts of problems. The literal response to FB performance tests was “you’re doing it wrong, don’t use a monorepo

I don't hang out much in BLM lands (way too noisy, way too much trash), so there's probably some nuance here that is lost on me, yes. What I mean is that we should take more of the set aside public lands and deem them off limits t
