It's a good strategy, as long as the US doesn't become as autocratic as the Nazis or Viet Cong ( correct? ). Then, plugging leaks becomes hanging their corpses as a warning. Peaceful protests only work against peaceful regimes.

Exactly. Some of the best designers I've ever met were absolutely terrible at interpersonal communication and were completely dependent on the project manager to talk to the client and figure out the communication problem. There's a lot of

Well, except for the fact that government intervention forced Microsoft to keep Office for Mac viable, along with providing operation funds that kept Apple alive. You're correct with OSS, that's succeeding despite how broken software patent

Would malicious be a better term? I'm assuming you could fix this, but the majority of computer users would have no idea what this is, or even that the plugin architecture exists.

I'm surprised that they were taking AP physics. In Wisconsin, the valedictorian gets a full-ride to anywhere in the UW system. Due to this, many valedictorians I've seen take easy classes and graduate with a 4.1, whereas many of those with

This isn't evil. This is inconsiderate. Evil is spyware, data logging and uninstallable plug-ins. So, really, this is hyperbole.

I'm confused. Really confused. This is why you design the thing, before internal operation. He's working in the wrong mental design language, thinking in terms of how the thing works, rather than how the user interacts. Is this why so man

Well, I'm a 'tard designer who hangs out here, and I've played with B and Splay trees, but I've never heard of a Linked List. Kinda like that.

Those are the least of this concept’s issues. Who would take the time to design, QA and build this phone, not to mention put it into production, all the while not co-opting or diluting the vision put forth by Mozilla? There’s a lot of hatin

I’m guessing somebody leaned on Sony, as this was stated to be an all-in thing for their upcoming product lines, not an " experimental R&D project " as listed now. There’s a couple of major players, namely Microsoft and Oracle; I wouldn

This is a cold war. God knows who pressured Sony to drop it, it was a fairly novel move and generated a ton of developer interest. Oracle, Microsoft, Google, or was it even Apple, trying to retain language exclusivity? It’s probably more

It’s better for the designer to know the strengths and weaknesses of the medium rather than the technical nitty-gritty. As in, random variations in styling through jQuery is fine, but multiple, pinned backgrounds for IE6 is bad. (The design
