This is really applicable to any products that are valued based on their marketing efforts instead of intrinsic value or utility. Costume jewellery, designer clothes, some kinds of art, all derive their value from the story the creators tel

I don’t think the sculptor was planning to sculpt an outlandish alien nose. The problem is that if your statue doesn’t look right heads will roll. The story isn’t about the selection of outlier data points as being representative - its more

Think the OP meant in conjunction with each other, I.e going off grid. Solar panels on the roof, a full power wall and an electric car. That’s enough to keep you going as long as you can manage food and water.

Yes. The Heroku developer is still fantastic and pretty unique, and hasn’t been replicated (yet). If Heroku intends to maintain the lead, it’ll have to keep moving - the new offerings like Kafka and Redis before a pretty good - providing S3

@amzans any reason you’re doing a show HN now? Been following this for a while, and just noticed a new release... is there something in it that makes you feel it’s ready for prime time?

The Netflix or Apple Music model might work. Fixed price per month for a catalog of games, with revenue shares happening based on play time. This a basically a solved problem for video and audio content, games don’t need to be different.

Think that’s the premise of Pascal’s wager, that if you simply multiply cost with expectation believing in God is a better bet. Of course with something like a general AI all bets are off. This neural link think is a horribly bad defense, b
