My heart bleeds hearing about Uighurs suffering. And I welcome these kinds of posts. At the same time I am wondering why news about Palestinians are flagged and filtered away on HN. I read Haaretz on a daily basis, and what I read about thi

Beautifully made. Like the font. And how legible it is on mobile devices. - Learned Scheme and worked through SICP with its predecessor DrScheme twenty years ago. - Keep up the good work.

Would love to replace my Kindle with another device. Any recommendations? - Also, I appreciate a local file on the Kindle that logs all my highlights (this file is called `My Clippings.txt‘. I parse that file and have a wonderful summary of

An `rm -rf ` always has the potential for some desaster. Especially if you are calling it from bash history via `Ctrl + r` and hit return too fast without editing the argument after `-rf`. Actually the rm command should move files into a `~

I can totally understand the need to protect your citizens, but I rather think that this kind of behaviour damages the reputation of the US deeply. In the long run, you might have gotten your hands on someone's data that would like to

What a wonderful perspective to look at this. We take so many things for granted. The knowledge we have is beautifully compartmented by artificial boundaries we take for granted. All the faculties we have: we rarely question the architectur

I also use iCloud for all my iDevices. It‘s not fast or as flexible as Dropbox but privacy wise I prefer them over any other cloud sync solution.

If that was the case I‘d fall back to Safari. Even though my browsing experience wouldn’t be the same anymore (using a dozen addons in Firefox).
