My heart bleeds hearing about Uighurs suffering. And I welcome these kinds of posts. At the same time I am wondering why news about Palestinians are flagged and filtered away on HN. I read Haaretz on a daily basis, and what I read about this corner of the world makes me lose my faith in humanity.
- pinkfoot 6y agoIndeed, once can only imagine the deafening silence when HN is asked to boycott products that use Intel's Ice Lake 10nm core, which was developed in Israel. That's not fair: you'll hear one word before the silence: 'whataboutism' :)
- submeta 6y agoI am not talking about boycotting. I have relatives in IL. There are good people in IL who don‘t like the way the PL issue is dealth with. I was just talking about the silence when it comes to the Palestinians and their suffering on this platform. I am against every form of discrimination: Uighurs, Jews, people of color, women. There‘s too much suffering in the world. Didn‘t want to hijack this thread either.

I have relatives in China. There are good people in China who don‘t like the way the Uighur issue is dealth with. See what I did there?

- joelbluminator 6y agoI'm all for it. And also boycott most muslim countries for their despicable treatment of women and gays (or other minorities like Christian or Shiites etc)
