Public: bad for you, good for everyone else. I was thinking about a service that lets you add notes to books last night. My first thought was that every note had to default to public. Why? So you would contribute to the greater community wi

Sounds like he wants to just make the filesystem less transparent and handled solely by the application that uses it. It's nice, and user friendly, until you want to switch. One of the reasons the Mac vs. PC debate is almost moot is because

This isn't a solid design (obviously), but I'd like to think the names of the days would be highlighted well. The week day names do line up in a column still. The weekends, especially, would be colored differently. The weekends kind of coun

The difference: they figured out how to use this new technology to enhance their business. They're letting the internet hurt their brands. It has a lot to do with the design, ads, and [citations needed].

It has to do (I assume) with markets. They can control who sees what ad based on where they are. Not so with the internet. Well, they can even more so with the internet, just not when people pirate via justin.tv and ustream.

Every major website should have their own URL shorter. People would be more willing and trusting to click a random link found on Twitter if it's from Gizmodo's short URL rather than bit.ly. Then again, people shouldn't click random links.

It'd be nice if more international users were on Twitter. Twitter's publicness and trending topics really break certain clique's bubbles. All the urban hashtags and tween Twilight talk open me up to new worlds I just don't get on Facebook.
