Thank you for this comment, you shed some light on something I considered too opaque to dig into and made it clear why this would be useful.

I enjoyed reading it, as someone who writes a lot of go but hasn't done any profiling of code.

Honestly, the lack of enums annoys me far more than the generics ever do. Mainly because we have interfaces.

The vue code for this is pretty terse anyway to be honest. A single variable in data, a call to setInterval in the created hook and a few lines of html with template formatting. It's extremely clear what's going on too.

As a counterpoint, I've found The Economist is quite good on my own domestic politics when it does cover it - albeit rarely. To me this quote underlines the importance of reading news from varied sources rather than not reading it at a

I usually find it's the opposite to be honest. Most people that I know that have a good understanding of how the technology works are far more sanguine about what it can and cannot do. Whereas those friends and acquaintances who unders

This is a commonly suggested solution that fundamentally misunderstands the problem. Most of these people aren't believing falsehoods because they don't have access to better information. It's because they don't trust th

This is a pretty poor criticism of the normal distribution, for one it doesn't contain a single mention of variance or standard deviation which is as important as the mean. Modelling something with a normal distribution does not say th

Subtitles can be a massive help if they're accurate when watching sped up. YouTube autogen ones are often distractingly wrong though

Would never speed up something I was watching for enjoyment. I was slightly puzzled when I saw Netflix enable speeding up video, I suppose someone out there must have wanted it.

Have you tried watching things at 2x speed? I watch anything educational at 2x stopping to replay (often several times) anything I don't understand, watching at normal speed. I end up powering through the bits I understand and focusing

People don't base this opinion on a single article but on the coverage of the situation holistically as it evolves. Most of the 'bombshell' revelations in this trial have been available on the internet since the week of the s

4chan's influence is not good but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. In fact it's so influential that a lot of the garbage on there bleeds into the real world e.g. Pizzagate, QAnon, the OK symbol means 'white power
