How about "subconscious"? It's interesting to see how some statements are based on wrong translations and misunderstanding.

I personally like the onetab extension very much. The best tab is no tab. The very notion of "tab management" is wrong. I just wish there were a way to synchronize the page via Firefox sync.

While it's confusing at first I don't think it really hampers acceptance. I think the general advice is to first create an account on mastodon.social and then to move on once you find something you like more.

You can use mastodon this way of course and ignore the local feed.

No, it's more like picking your community. Compare an account on mastodon.social vs an instance localated in your hometown to see the difference.

Yes you can but that's not how hardcore mastodon users describe things. Did you ever wonder what the local feed is about?

I don't think these are just ergonomic wrinkles. I was surprised to learn that it seems to matter which instance you join. I assumed "decentralized" means "it doesn't matter where you're located". To me t

The rm2 is a really nice device but you also have to take into account the price for their subscription service. IMHO they totally ruined it with their subscription service. On the other, I assume this is the only way they could raise the m

I assume people didn't have mills at home for the same reason most people of today don't have full blown data centers at home. People did have mortars though like today's people have PCs and smartphones. I think you're w

There is value in following simple ideas to the end. Why do valuable ideas have to be complex? BTW my entry point was "Science in Action".

I had the pleasure to attend one of his lectures. I still don't quite get why he didn't like Foucault, but I think his idea of the hidden mass of social life is quite enlightening. IMHO one of the most interesting french intellect

The problem with large sample sizes is that random deviations show up as significant difference unless you have a responsible statistician in the team.

I cannot access the original paper and I don't have the time for it. Was the study registered in advance? Did they also test other outcome variables and then did cherry picking? Which potential confounders did they test? How do they co

So let's ignore all possible confounders, don't even start asking questions, and focus on some random detail because my supervisor is a huge fan of it.

Because you need to follow the trajectory of some philosopher in order to fully comprehend what it is about. You don't understand it by just memorizing the summary from some encyclopedia.

Since all of philosophy is just a collection of footnotes to the Work of Platon, this seems appropriate.

The Framework Expansion card essentially is an USB-C adapter but with the form factor of a framework extension card. I personally don't find the card very appealing. I thought Ethernet ports in thin laptops are a solved problem.

What I don't like about framework notebooks is that they seem to be mostly interested in speed, which is why they seemed to choose these P-series CPUs. With a notebook, I'm much more interested in energy consumption (how long can

You don't have to store and transport it in pure form as gas. You could use e.g. some carrier medium (or whatever is the right English term).
