This is exactly what I want from Gleam. It does seem to be under documented and abandoned. Is there any understanding of why? Like you say, this seems like a super power. I see so much potential. A language that’s ergonomic, pragmatic as th

Isn’t manual ser/de pretty common? I like it personally. Being explicit at program boundaries usually means far fewer bugs inside the program. In JS I can pile whatever JSON I want into an object, but eventually I need to throw Zod or

Wow, this is a great overview. I’ve been playing with Gleam a bit and this was really helpful. I’ll definitely refer to this later. I’d like to dig into the OTP library (I’m curious if anyone has worked with it much?) and create a state cha

I do this as well. I have inline suggestions enabled with supermaven (I like the tiny, short, fast suggestions it creates), but otherwise I’m really using LLMs to validate ideas, not actually generate code. I find supermaven helps keep me o

I’ve come to the same conclusion in regards to my own learning, even after 15 years doing this. When I want a quick hint for something I understand the gist of, but don’t know the specifics, I really like AI. It shortens the trip to google,

I agree. Someone writing type aliases to make the code safer and easier to reason about would be a big green flag for me. It also helps me see how you’re modelling the solution. In day to day work this is much better aligned with the skills

I agree they should be tracked, absolutely. I should have specified that I wouldn’t expect it to be an issue in the short term. Eventually they would almost certainly interact, though at that point hopefully the marmots will be established

The marmots are in so few locations and in such small numbers, it seems exceedingly unlikely that it would become an issue. It would be awful if it was a problem though. The marmots have been having record years, and their recovery is reall

I actually think about this quite often, but I can’t imagine myself creating something better than Adonis for example. I’m not sure I necessarily have better ideas, or equivalents which are worth sharing. Unfortunately it isn’t a framework

Though I don’t use it regularly, it does sound like an incredibly productive combo. I really like vue. Laravel I don’t so much, but I appreciate how boring yet well designed it is. I often wish the js ecosystem had real counterparts to lara

Haha, after all this time I still don’t find RxJS easy unless I’m using it for a common, familiar pattern. I agree otherwise, though. It’s definitely easy to create weird bugs.

This was awesome. It's strange to know that I already understood this (conceptually at least), yet seeing how slow it really is at this scale is confusing. Maybe that's not quite the right word. It makes my brain pause and go &quo

I’m not sure. The market is still pretty rough. Then again I’m only speaking from my experience. Fewer companies are interested in interviewing and hiring me than ever in my career right now. If I had a job, I wouldn’t be leaving it. Maybe
