The same thing that happens when a peer accesses an illegal torrent on his country? How is this relevant? It is a decentralized system, it shouldn't make a difference.

I was thinking exactly this when I stumbled upon your comment, except I figured it should work for any private tab and it'd also need a browser that makes tabs private (and contained) by default. It's a solution more easily solved

So, couldn't you keep a database? Many people would upload the same url, whichever ones are bogus would get a low score, like shadowbanning. Say, use a dht with proof-of-work and things should work? Obviously I'm oversimplifying,

I see no denial in his quote. Instead, I see warnings not to take US-centric accounts of the events without a ton of salt, because the US had interests in portraying them in a specific way in order to further an agenda.

I thought this would be a post of what the web has become (big corp bubbles) and what's to come in the next years, but was pleased to find a shout out to 90s web, specially since some 12 hours ago I was showing a friend how the web loo

For some years now, Google Images has been pretty awful to navigate, all thanks to Pinterest. I do hope Google is just unaware of the mentioned "hack", because the other option is they do not care because Pinterest helps them thro

Like others said, from a pov of global economics and current geopolitics, it might not make sense. But when you factor in sustainability , independence from the system and health , things begin to make more sense. Mono-cultures degrade

Hello, also a developer who's interested in agroecology. I actually also left development (as a job, not as something I do) in order to pursue a more human-centric approach to agriculture. With automation, it seems obvious we'll b

I meant it on foobar2000 with its foo_vis_shpeck plugin, which is a wrapper for Winamp visualization plugins. I have run it successfully under Windows but I recall having trouble on Wine some 5 years ago.

I was amazed to find out foobar2000 works great under Wine, including input & output plugins, so I just use it. Best ML management IMO. Can't recall if I ever got the Winamp AVS plugin to work though.

Are the courts powerless too? Can't citizens sue the government? I don't know how exactly the 3 powers work on US, but over here you can also petition courts (including the Supreme Court) to judge whether a given decree by the exe

Couldn't that, in principle, be implemented as an Atom plugin? You'd be able to get the HTML output you desire.

What I like about Windows API when compared to GTK is exactly that: the OO/class system is kept at a minimum and is limited to the handling of the widget tree.

Exactly this. As a Windows API/GDI developer, I used to loathe the WndProc way, but after looking at how Qt and Gtk do things, I really really miss it; specially considering the aforementioned libraries requires megabytes of space whil
