I don't want to be "that guy" but the only thing really stopping me from switching is the lack of an ARM Linux client. Heck, I'd even be willing to do the work on it, but until I can use the same editor across all my machines, I'll stick wi

Wouldn't the checkin to your source code repository already have those patch(es)?

If they have a Chromebook, it's a good bet they have a Google account. Hangouts are one of the "apps" installed.

You may not see it but until the Samsung ARM Chromebook was released it was the top selling laptop on Amazon.

Not everything from Android is in the mainline kernels. There are still a few bits that are Android specific that would need to be reworked to even be accepted into staging. There has been a lot of great ARM work lately in mainline too but

Well, I had a bit of a fuss as they are using ARM TrustZone, so the 3.0.15 kernel didn't want to compile with a newer gcc than the one that Hardkernel uses by default (CodeSourcery 2010q1 - which translates to roughly GCC 4.4.1 with their e

Last I knew, and I'll admit I haven't looked recently, the gigabit was actually limited to something like 480M. The only other one I can think of that is armv7+ (that isnt mx6) with gigabit is the OpenBlocks which has 2 or 4 gigE ports but

I've got a Linaro build running on mine. (It arrived on the 24th, so I had a good Christmas!) it's actually stable overclocked to 2GHz and the Mali in it is also stable at 800MHz.

The processor is the Exynos 4412. And while yes the CC number would be valid, notice that it's not the correct bank for the prefix 4412.

Not that much to figure out. The kernel sources are on git.chromium.org and they have a script (prepare-config, I think it's called) that gathers all the defaults that they set. Then just run make menuconfig and it's just like building your

A rad hardened machine won't be running 3.7, or 3.6.x for that matter. They will be running something a bit older with (guess I don't know for sure) security patches being back ported as needed.

I would be one of those people, but at 1500 dollars, seems a bit steep, for the hardware involved. I just got my Chromebook (ARM, 3G) and I'm amazed at just how well everything runs on it. But I don't think that the Dell is my target anyway

I get these too, except it's a cell phone bill for someone in Malaysia. I've tried repeatedly contacting someone at the company but all mails to them get returned as mailbox is full (it's 2012, how is anyone's mailbox full!?) and so they co

While udev can be built from the systemd sources, it still requires building dependencies that are NOT needed by udev. This was silly and even though a patch was created specifically to address this, it was nak'd by the systemd developers.

At a minimum it should be in your headers, otherwise we have no idea how to proceed. We are actually running into that issue at work because something we use has a header file with just a copyright in it and no license.

There is an open source app for Razer mice, but it's fairly basic (or was, the last time I used it) and doesn't have support for very many mice. That said, I use a death adder, a mamba, a lachesis, and an Orochi with Linux just fine. Admit

I don't know that I'd connect to any website in a cafe, and when I did go to LAN parties, they were riddled with people scanning the network, and so forth. I'd be much more comfortable paying more for more storage in the device.

I love having a decent looking default theme rather than a forest of ugly ones as well. However, the default theme is nowhere near pretty, or even usable on smaller screen sizes. I have a 10" netbook that runs Gnome like a dream, but there
