Seems to me that GoDaddy did the right thing. The texts were unsolicited and based on some of the claims in the story, weren't actually targeted at voters. Not sure why this is considered news, although the way I read the title, GoDaddy did

Perhaps I have abnormally large pockets, but the nexus 7 fits easily in my front pocket of my jeans. I don't buy any particular brand (usually whatever is cheap/on sale at Walmart that they have in my size) and this is the case for shorts a

Being as the A10 is armv7, it's already possible to run more on it than on the Pi. Let us move forward, not backward.

You mean like all the Allwinner boards? Closest you're going to come to the price is ~50USD. I doubt the Chinese have the VideoCore GPU available to them (they use Mali) so, no. My hope is that it would at least get ARM to open up more of t

They probably won't officially support it because it is a consumer device. If you want Ubuntu on it, it will be community supported, or ask Samsung to do the work/pay them to port and support it.

The only Mac experience I have personally is a core duo version (one of the first intel MacBook Pro) and then listening to the coworker's air. I'm glad to hear that newer ones are quieter, and that's definitely going to weigh in on my next

That isn't what I'm comparing though. My use case is obviously different. For me, I'm working on software, I'm compiling software. On an ARM machine with no moving parts, this is a silent activity. On every other machine, this is far from s

I have a thinkbook. I love it to death, but I can't leave it on for more than 15-30 minutes before the sound of the fan going annoys me too much. Same with the MacBook Air for that matter. A friend of mine has one and as soon as he launched

Oh, and if anyone is curious, it looks like in the ChromiumOS sources, the overlay for this is "overlay-daisy". For those not familiar with building chrome, it should be something like export BOARD=daisy before doing the setup/build steps.

Well, actually, part of doing it IS documenting it so that others can enjoy Gentoo on their machine. I normally do blog posts when I first get a machine, the unboxing and so forth, but documenting normally goes somewhere on the gentoo docum

I've got one on preorder. I'm a gentoo dev in my spare time, and I definitely intend to get Gentoo running on it. I kind of have a leg up though since Chrome/ChromiumOS is built on Gentoo. In that regard, it already does run Linux, just the

Mobile isn't just 3.5" displays. And some of us DO need to log in and do things while we are on the go, we don't get to sit at a coffee shop and whip out our MacBook Air every time there is an issue.

Actually the processor itself is normally fairly cheap, the LCD is normally the largest price (or storage, depending on what type and how much space is provided.)

There are many reasons why you'd want to allow an older version, such as there simply isn't a newer version available. Just to give an example, Flash on ARM (non-Android) is old, however, most of the attacks won't work, due to the different

As someone who has never visited good reads, you have the ratings in parenthesis, but, what are they out of? (4.11) doesn't really tell me much, is that 4.11 out of 5, or 4.11 out of 10? (To pick a random rating). Yes, I can not be lazy an

Microsoft got most of the grief because of security issues, which weren't dependent on specific hardware configurations ( at least, not always). Sure the BSOD was "normally" caused by a bad driver and Microsoft took flack for that, but on

I'm not taking any side, by my own personal habit for a follow on twitter is to look at who followed me's stream before following back. I'd hope others would do the same rather than automatically following back.

It entirely depends on your usage. My coworker uses them for turn by turn and that works great for him. I use it for transit, and it's not so great. I get that they wanted to open up transit for other apps (or couldn't build it in for some

I'm not so sure that cutting off access to play has as much to do with the popularity as much as vendors "abandoning" their devices. The only way I can run a "modern" version of Android on my Viewsonic Gtablet is by using CM, and I don't ca

What is the Razrl? Google search isn't being very helpful. I haven't done much testing of ARM versus Intel, but the experience that I do have with ARM, compiling software wise, using an i.MX6Q (Freescale), it takes roughly 3 1/2 hours (soft
