There is heaps of hype. I’d suggest trying to read up on the actual technology, but even then there’s new terminology. Anyway, I think NFTs have a good chance of being used to represent real world items in digital systems. So things like s

Is there any research paper to back up this claim? It could simply be that sensationalist headlines get people’s attention. As one data point I certainly don’t want biased information I’d prefer facts, including those that contradict my cur

Look after yourself first. If you can give more and choose to that’s nice to do. I once gave more than the standard - I gave a few months’ notice to a company that had been good to me as there was no internal backfill to my role and I was m

I have a delonghi. Only a few hundred dollars but the support service has been fantastic which I didn’t really expect either. I’ve noticed a few responses to my post mentioning drip coffee machines - the one I have steams milk, makes lattes

Web3 isn’t one-thing. There are many web3 categories (L1 blockchain, L2 roll up, dapps, nft markets, defi) and then within those, each product has a different focus. For example you might say Bitcoin doesn’t provide privacy you can see ever

Couldn’t you make the free trial useful enough to show off the product, yet _incomplete_ in such a way that continually making new accounts is not viable? An example.. a marketing mail app where the trial only allows you to mail 1 or 2 camp

I agree with the “if you’re not paying, you’re not the customer” mantra. I do believe we should pay (a reasonably small amount! :)) for products that companies provide. It’s the “free” model that got us into this mess.

But the “I’m not buying anything” box would never be implemented by Google because their whole existence is based on tracking us to find out they or their real customers can extract every last dollar from us. It’s all surveillance ad based…

Yeah I’ve noticed this too. But also the rest of the front page is often either seo spam (like those Pinterest links which catch whatever search term you’ve used) or shopping sites. I’ve found google search to be increasingly hostile to its

Yes exactly - it is critical that it be designed properly with individuals’ privacy baked in and safe guarded otherwise it risks turning the current slight-dystopia surveillance internet into a full blown dystopia.

I hope you get some help here. I just wanted to point out it’s another stark reminder of (one of) the problems with these walled gardens in tech. Something needs to be done to make the individual the customer again.

Tl;dr delta chat has a chat app front end ui which uses encrypted email as the carrier. There’s no ‘server’ so you’re on your own with keys, backups etc. Sounds like a good idea actually

I second Olalonde’s recommendations on ethereum. I’d also suggest rabbithole and web3university. Some of the vc’s have been blogging a fair bit (a16z for example) if that’s your thing.

You’re talking about a very very small subset of developers. Those that (likely) went to a top US college, are in SF and got snapped up by a FAANG. The other 95% of developers globally never get that experience. Don’t be upset with what you

I feel as though companies want their “smart” things (algorithms, recommendations, devices) to do stuff better than us, maybe they think that’s what we want, but I’d just like them to serve us better instead - let me tell it what to do and

If you’ve never done it before I’d suggest understanding html and css first (or maybe you know them) and I’d follow it with javascript and either node or php (lamp stack) on the back end. I think this is the easiest way to begin. There are
