I did exactly this literally last week with the combination Cloudflare Email Forwarding to receive emails and Amazon SES as an SMTP relay to send emails (from any address) on my domains. Works exceptionally well and moving away from my lega

I recently setup Cloudflare email forwarding to receive emails in various mailboxes depending on the address, and use SES to send mail.

Agreed and it's free across all banks, and some have even raised daily transfer limits to $7000 or more. It's also one of the easiest and fastest no-fee methods to transfer money into crypto exchanges/platforms in Canada.

I get that and appreciate that this was a tough choice, but the alternative you're proposing (1) requires several more clicks, (2) expects the end user to trust an extension that is unknown to them at the onset, and (3) does not provid

If your search engine requires an extension to work and display the results, it's a total non-starter. Cannot suggest this to any non-HN crowd. Good luck.

I have owned and managed my .is domain directly on ISNIC for over a decade. They support 2FA and the website is available in English as well.

they are not. you can do cross-messaging between FB and IG if both parties have accounts linked, but otherwise you can have an IG account that is not linked to FB.

Geocities had a WYSIWYG website builder, so yes there was some software involved. It's how I learned how to build my first website when I was 12.

Agreed - I always use example.com as well. Also worth noting that example.net, while not listed on the IANA page, is also reserved.

This has been rolled out and in use in British Columbia, Canada as well. We have a digital ID app for iOS and Android, which you verify your ID with first, then for government sites (e.g., health records), you login through this app instead

A Canadian location does solve the regulatory requirements of Canadian customers. Even federal government agencies in Canada no longer have issues using US-based hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) that have Canadian datacenters.

The Axios version [0] of this is so much more palatable, to the point and not behind a paywall. Can we maybe consider swapping to this instead? https://www.axios.com/google-goodbye-individual-user-trackin...

From 2018 but also, this is referring to moving away from E2E encryption, which is true. However, the backup file that gets uploaded to Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS) is encrypted (i.e., Google and Apple cannot read its content). Se

That statement is correct. E2E encryption is only in effect between two devices communicating with each other. The moment the messages leave the app in any capacity (e.g., screenshots, backup, forwarded to another convo/contact, etc.)

I keep hearing this, but is there an actual reliable source that confirms it? If it were that easy, then I could technically restore anyone's GDrive backup from WhatsApp on my Android phone simply if I got access to the same Google acc

The backups aren't E2E encrypted, WhatsApp even tells you this in the backup settings page in the app. But if they hold the decryption key and the only way to get it is via registering with a WhatsApp server via SMS verification, then

Thanks for replying! This is concerning if true. Is this documented or proven anywhere? I had heard something similar, but can't seem to find any reliable source that confirms the messages are in plaintext.

I think OP's point is still valid; doesn't matter if you go to one store or another (e.g., Walmart or Safeway), if that store has a house brand, chances are their equivalent house brand is at the same level or higher than the name
