I wonder what the actual prevalence of this sentiment among deaf people is. I would expect it to be exceedingly low. I'm not deaf, but I'm legally blind and autistic. Interestingly, I've never once heard of someone take this

And of course, even with social media, there is still a large bias issue - not just with who is sharing, but also what; most people don't share everything about their lives on social media.

This assumes that written data from a particular time period actually reflects what it was like in that time period, and isn't highly biased to select for, say, particular socioeconomic classes.

Being against things like TFA does not mean one is against things like banning indoor smoking. Just like being for alcohol doesn't mean one wants to legalize drunk driving. > No, it's because being around a smoker is deeply unp

I'm not saying there's no difference. I just don't that difference is as pronounced as some people think, and I don't think it excuses the apparent double standard. Brief Googling also suggests that second-hand smoke aff

From the government's perspective, this may (or may not) be silly. But putting that aside, if a citizen supports banning cigarettes for people born after a certain date, but not alcohol, that certainly seems hypocritical to me.

Not everyone in the world is subject to the same laws. To say nothing of what all that means when those laws are unjust and themselves serve to trample on individuals' rights.
