Strongly disagree. Horror is the best genre for interesting artistic conversations. What are we afraid of? Should we be afraid of it? How do we overcome it? These are great questions that are easier to coexist with fun action sequences wi

Glossing at their financial statements, about half of that is due to deferred revenue (stuff they sold but haven't delivered on, which I'd guess is sales of their currency that haven't been redeemed). No particular insight on

For example, killing someone by ignoring their allergies? I find it very odd that someone would live in the US for years and have that be their main takeaway.

"Hollywood Accounting" refers to exaggerating losses on items so as to avoid paying dues on profits and is completely irrelevant to this situation. The "App Store" is a platform that offers reach in distribution channels

The problem is not that selling access to users has no value. The problem is that it is anti competitive to sell access to these users in the first place by virtue of putting up barriers for other companies to distribute to customers

Bad analogy. The ad company is purchasing slots from the network. This is more like the TV manufacturer demanding a cut of the ad revenue because they've demanded all incoming feeds go through their middleman software layer.

Seems very unlikely to work. Most metroidvania mechanics are not "useful", they're just "required" like barrier breakers or hazard resistances. Players don't actually care about having the latter. Taking away t

That is not accurate. Many state owned Chinese companies have been cutting ties, including off the top of my head, Bank of China. It is, without a doubt, driven by western sanction threats, but it does include state owned enterprises.

A dollar tree is sort of the opposite of a bulk discount store. It's a specific brand but it's sort of the modern evolution of the role of a dollar store of decades past. It optimizes to make the absolute price of goods small even

1) You have a supermarket and not a shitty dollar tree 2) You have a fridge to put those spoil prone foods 3) You have time to prepare those foods 4) You have transportation for the raw foods or can drive them and buy in bulk

Ok, but you're severely misrepresenting the importance of things. Base SDXL is a fine model. Base SDXL is going to be much better than a materially smaller model that you've retrained with "good data".

The "nations" in Africa courting Russian influence are largely militant groups that have claimed dominion over lands. Those particular people in charge will probably selfishly benefit a great deal.

Videos are still very much in the baby phase. There are way, way easier tells when a video has been faked. We're talking about images. Turned head images are very much in scope.

The commercial use cases for generative art is not to make images that experts cannot discern as fake. It would be very expensive to annotate training images to have physically correct reflection images and the value would be negligible. Re

The "B" in UBI demands that the income be sufficient for basic needs and other social welfare systems observably do not provide that unconditionally.
