This is a good hypothesis but I see two problems with it. !) I've almost never seen a case where a company could raise a decent Series A and has chosen not to. Theres a lot of validation and peer pressure towards doing so. 2) Just because y

I don't know about that. We've been able to convince a significant amount of people to use WakeMate daily... I think that the audience is so wide that good apps can have dedicated followings. So people use the built in apps, twitter, fb, an

One thought I had was that Hulu/Netflix should buy the rights to cancelled shows that have popular followings and pay to have new seasons made. Obviously this is fraught with potential problems (people are committed to other projects) but i

Do you use Kayak or go direct to the airline? There's a lot to be said for aggregation + really nice UI. Plus they have streaming 720p (drool) and some pretty decent movies.

Getting advice from these guys has always been a smart thing to do and YC startups have been doing it for years. This just makes it easier, which is fantastic.

The younger you are the less time you've had to achieve something. Therefore it's more impressive when you do.

Why am I being downvoted? Turning their display into a tv may not be a big step but turning their display into a tv that will replace the current living room tv certainly is.

That makes some sense. However I would then argue that Apple should put all the 'TV stuff' (cable input, av input, etc) in the Apple TV and have that plug in to the TV. Added benefit of being way more portable/modular. EDIT: Actually I'm no

Why oh why would Apple build an actual tv when they can just build a box that plugs in to EVERY tv and puts iOS on them?? I don't understand why everyone thinks Apple are going to build a tv, it's a ridiculous idea.

Now that we've got the monitoring down we're working on ways to help people improve their sleep. This blog post talks a bit about one of the features we're testing: http://blog.wakemate.com/2011/04/05/743/ .

As technology becomes more ubiquitous, the people who understand technology will become more valuable. This is a symptom of more people knowing what the internet is than did 20 years ago.

No one that we've explicitly talked with. We're planning on implementing features to guide people along to polyphasic sleep but haven't had the time yet.

Sweet pivot. This could have also turned into an awesome location based hook up service. Localized hotornot etc :-).

We're actually working on this problem over at WakeMate. Basically the solution is to sleep just enough to accumulate the number of sleep cycles you need to feel rested. We're building a tool to tell our users what that length of time is. I

I completely agree with this. I don't understand how an email from a Moviefone employee (just trying to do his/her job the way it works in their industry) asking for help from a sister site gets blown into AOL censoring TC. It seems like a

I disagree. The reason you get a lower valuation from Angel Groups is because they act as a group so they have more power to put in more cash and to determine your valuation. Angel List is not an angel group by any means. They do not act
