I know it's really out of the question because of the amount of additional load it would create, but in some ways I'd like to have a more personalised home page. If I could just configure it with a: -objective-c, -java, -hotz, -raises, -acq

My main problems with HN of late are twofold: 1) It seems to be becoming a blog aggregator for the X, Y and Z 'celebrities' of HN. If I wanted to read all of their blog posts, I'd subscribe to their RSS feeds. Do we really need EVERY one of

One of the valuable ones that I can spot is daz.com, "Daz" being a popular Procter & Gamble brand of soap powder (at least, in the UK): http://www.dazwhite.co.uk/ - I'd guess they'd quite like the .com for their brand.

Reminds me of the creepy Twitter bot I set up a couple of years ago (which is still going): http://twitter.com/reboundfinder The account got a mention on MSNBC; I have no idea why.

Exactly this; I'm thankful for the warning about biases, but this poll won't be used to impart any real advice - it's more about setting the scene with some anecdotal evidence; i.e. the fact that people have voted in some numbers for a vari

That's a very good point - I should have maybe added "Freedom" as an option (not necessarily 'financial' freedom, but more flexibility in lifestyle).

Why have people downvoted fletiz's response to -1? I don't necessarily agree or disagree with it (I'm staying neutral in this discussion), but please - stop downvoting replies that you disagree with. This response, as far as I can see, was

True, but this DOES look like a five minute project. I just screen-grabbed their large logo, put it into Photoshop, reversed the colors and reduced it to 16x16, and it looks almost exactly the same as their icon - no pixel-pushing required.

We've been traveling the world since May 1st 2010, and have used it wherever we can (Vancouver, Melbourne, Thailand, ...). It's a great idea, love it, and don't want to say anything too negative (it has far more going for it than against it

This is a valid point, but I think it's changing. I spent October to December in Japan, and the iPhone is HUGE there now (whereas a year ago, I didn't see one). I'd guess that 30% of the people I saw on the train used an iPhone.

It picks up on any Twitter/FB updates that we can measure a discerning 'sentiment' for, so although it's limited to companies/brands at the moment, it could certainly be used for other things.
