Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, certainly the 'high = bad' thing is something we grappled with (and still do). The site is a sister-site to a consumer-complaint/petition website ( http://www.groubal.com/ ), hence we're more interested in me

If anyone's interested, we're using the Google Graph API for all the graphs (the spark lines and the big transparent ones at the top), and the Bayesian stuff is based on the PHP work I wrote up here: http://danzambonini.com/self-improving-

Actually, even that's not the original source! Among other things, I'm one of the co-organisers of Ignite London, which Tom Scott made this (very, very cool) video/presentation for. The video was filmed by another organiser (Richard) for Ig

This is the best suggestion so far, as other suggestions (like 'box') are neutral (emotionally), whereas 'clutter' lets the customer know that what you're doing is HELPING them remove things that are negative (emotionally speaking) in their

Argh! I'm arriving in Tokyo... at 6am on Oct 17th! I'm going to be there for 2 months though (in a Shinjuku apt), and would love to meet any fellow hackers if anyone is up for a post HN-Meetup drink? Thanks all! (And apologies for the FB-li

Would have been nice to have just seen these as normal graphs; the "infographic" style feels a bit OTT for this kind of (very important) data, and almost trivializes it. I do question, though, where the "A company's following count should n

Thanks very much for the links (I wrote the article). I'm new to this area of analysis, so knowing the names for things really helps! I'll check out those links and delve further down the rabbit hole - thanks again.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that - I have installed Macports, but find ies4osx a little slow/crappy (compared to Parallels), but it was definitely handy before I splashed out on parallels.

Revenue or profit? I don't want to sound like a hater, but revenue is meaningless - it's fairly easy to buy lots of things people want, sell them very cheaply, and make a loss (but turn over a lot of revenue). I'm guessing Mr Owens did actu

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear enough in the article. The point of the low PageRank is that it identifies the low-competition keywords/key-phrases. i.e. If you have a HIGH PR site, then you can rank pretty well for any key phrases, but if yo
