My project is an ongoing one of self improvement. I've spent most of my adult life working on technical stuff, and it's taken a bit of a toll on me. I quit working about ~20 months ago, started a low-carb time restricted eating re

I keep seeing new projects that implement things that Emacs and Org mode already do incredibly well. I guess it's a testament to how steep the Emacs learning curve is, or perhaps how ugly the defaults look. You have ox-beamer, which le

Thanks for the shout-out! I think org-babel is really well suited for this task, and can make some really great documentation. You can check out the video[0] from the talk and a git repo[1] with a more advanced demonstration. [0]: https:&#

Pfft, I'll be impressed when Emacs runs as pid 1, has an inittab.el, mounts filesystems, sets up swap, starts daemons, launches X, reaps zombines, and deals with shutdown. I'm sort of surprised nobody's done that yet.

One reasons Prot himself was able to become a bonafide Emacs Guru in just a few years is because he's the kind of person who reads manuals. He speaks highly of the included docs, and often credits them for his knowledge.

Very cool! I remember using debug.exe to write directly to 0xB0000 which was mapped my Hercules Monochrome card's video buffer. Rocking dual monitors in the late 80s was pretty cool. Later running the CodeView debugger TUI in your exte

I really like picking up arcane UNIX/Linux knowledge. In the 90s, I was asked in an interview by a wizened old UNIX greybeard what the brk system call did, and what I would think if I saw it pop up frequently in the strace output of a

Advanced voice mode does not do text to speech, one of 4o’s modes is speech, it’s multi-modal. This is how it can understand the emotional content of your speech.
