You can have jobs without a degree. Important and fullfilling jobs too. Those bankruptcy statistics might be biased given how poorly paid athletes are, thus tgey might be a consequence of their past and not their present. They aren't f

To understand rollbacks it's better to assume the user has itself borked something rather than the system. You don't necessarily rollback to previous package versions, just to the last state everything was working. Sure you can fi

Europe is a big place. Either way, it's the most rock solid distro in my personal experience. YaST, their system configuration tool, is the best there is. It has a GUI, TUI, and sets of commands that let you configure everything withou

Thanks for the warning. I assumed it would be de-orbiting but still, a very bad headline prone to lead people into believing in something that's not going to happen.

Why is that the case? The way its implemented is no longer fit for today's world, but as a concept? That's a whole other story.

Yes, we live in an utopia and everyone is very kind and at peace. Who would ever want to build these things?

Nobody is ever going to break up ASML. Apple is, in the grand scheme of things much less important. Much less.

Understandable! Thanks for what you've shared. I'm doing academic work on something that could leverage a digital twin, hence my interest. There are many uses for this tech, particularly in less techy crowds that still make signif

Oh, for sure. Wholeheartedly agree. We are little by little eroding the foundations of an economic system which allows individuals to get recognized and rewarded for their hard work. I may have not worded things well, I was trying to speak

That's fair, as someone pretty proficient in 3D modelling I understand your point. However, it also boils down to the scale of the project. Imagine recreating part of real life city, creating a digital twin, for scientific purposes (te

I think it comes from the fact an artist can create the mesh themselves and optimize them using this approach.

Could you go more in depth with your approach? Sounds really usefull for man made structures!

I don't think there's such a huge gulf between Krita and Photoshop for digital artists. I do work with it professionally all the time, mostly dealing with texture work for CG.

Sure, if you want to deal with strange problems no one has ever faced. RPi's strength isn't in meaningless performance benchmarks, is in actually getting stuff done.

No country should be subjugated to the desires of another. Ukraine wanted to join the EU, that was their provocation? Several paramilitary groups in its home soil have been funded by Russia, Russia took over Crimea, Russia has invaded them.

But what if you don't live in the US. You actually live in a "third world" country? These are the type of things that make it very hard for Apple to penetrate markets outside the US.

Agreed, its a understandable that they're choosing this path. FOSS needs to stop having such quasi-religious positions like the ones mentioned at the start of the article, where very understandable decisions are taken as dabs against o

One would think so, but some browsers do not handle well repaints or do it prematurely. I've been testing a fediverse platform against a plethora of browsers, and I'm always surprised at the differences. It's not terrible, bu

At the end of the day, there's a trust issue. The way distribution works nowadays, mitigates a lot of those. Making it decentralised would be a step backwards.

New CAD users would appreciate a good open source alternative. Moreover, the world is a diverse place, not everyone has the same kind of money or quantity. I think CAD users would benefit greatly from good open source alternatives.
