It's not surprising given how Micro$oft have treated developers over the years. Conflating terms is their specialty, now they're brainwashing a generation in order to force their opinions on us older greybeards.

Learn the tools, stay away from the toys. Hundreds of developers have been incredibly productive with a regular shell - there isn't any practical need for a product like Fig. If it were me and I was seeking more productivity from my sh

I do and like many other HN users, when websites refuse to accept my email, I simply don't use their service. I haven't noticed any decrease in my quality of life - in fact, being able to use my email freely is invigorating and gi

Chalk it up, then. I've never had a problem explaining the nuances of hooks, and there isn't actually that many permutations needed to wrangle them in indeed - but our engineers are usually quite quick to pick these things up and

The free market will decide what's a valuable search result or not, and I trust the freedom and liberty of people over any kind of curated, mutated ranking system.

If a car doesn't have turn signals installed, isn't that against regulations across many countries, including the US? I believe in freedom for all but it sets a dangerous precedent if we allow cars to not have turn signals.

Users don't really know what they want, and I'd wager that most are willing to accept a page refresh if they understood the immense productivity gains that developers like achieve, for a worse "user experience".
