I got lost in Kyoto station the day I had to catch a train to Osaka to take a plane from KIX. So many platforms, different train lines, exits. It's crazy. Somehow I've always done fine at Shinjuku, although during rush hour it can

Between this and many of my Prime "two-day" eligible orders taking up to and occasionally longer than a week these days, I'm thinking it may be time to cancel my Prime subscription.

How do you plan what features should be added while the app is free, and then which features in the future will go into a paid tier? Last year I worked on a pet project iOS app (which I never released unfortunately) and one of my struggles

I thought it couldn't get any worse and then I upgraded to iOS 17. It's awful.

Unless somethings changed in the very recent term, a few years ago I was still able to find the messages locally in, IIRC, an sqlite DB file (unless I'm thinking of iTunes stuff being in the sqlite db but I definitely also backed up ve

Just tried and no content loads anywhere. Feeds, messages, list feeds, etc. Website seems ok otherwise, renders fine.

That's no different from being in an office though. If someone taps me on the shoulder and says they need a few minutes of my time looking over problematic code or whatever, I can say "sure just give me about 15 minutes to finish

My team is fully remote and we definitely do pair programming from time to time. Not so much mob programming as much as mob code review on occasion to understand significant code changes and their related decisions. But not nearly to the de

It's interesting to read about this seeming to improve in Japan. I'm friends with many people in the (tuner) car community there and car theft as well as parts theft is still happening too often for locals. It's gotten to the

Nah. I have a Series 6. It works distinctly differently ever since I upgraded to WatchOS 10 (I think that's the latest major version that released when the latest iOS major release came out).

I hate how they changed complication buttons in the last major update. It used to be if I raised my Watch I could immediately tap my timer complication and it'd open my timer app. Now it's like the screen is constantly partially t

Yep back in the early days it was very common to be able to mix around tabs and take out out in the ones you wanted. Back when FB was still decent in the... iOS7? says it let you do this with chat, feed, notifications, groups, etc. as an ex

By your logic every software engineer job across the entire org at a company like Google/Amazon/Meta have the same requirements, exact same problems, etc.

I got one like the second link you posted a few months ago. Had a trip booked to Japan, multiple hotels reserved with booking and Agoda. At some point I received one of those messages, which arrived directly through Booking's system. A

I love magnet as well, have used it probably most of the last few jobs I've worked. The hot keys can be a little tricky to learn at first but after that it's a snap (heh).

Yeah Chase works out the best for sure. Especially if you manage to get a signup bonus. That's what I did for the Preferred earlier this year and it netted me 80k extra points. Used part of it to get "free" roundtrip economy

I rarely use it because my Chase Preferred has more offers/benefits. Mostly these days it's used for Apple payments like iCloud for the extra percent back in cash.

Is the argument you're making that the people complaining about this on HN are American teenagers? Seems like a completely different situation.... and really, again, a people problem.

I still believe that's a people problem. On Twitter you can easily curate Twitter lists of people to follow without being forced to use the generated feed. I'm rarely if ever outraged or otherwise emotionally charged when I'm

I live in America and literally nobody I know cares about this. Unfortunately I think it's just the typical remnant of the old Mac vs Windows haters who come out of the woodwork online to make it sound like a problem.
