Definitely. We have 30,000 React components at Facebook so we're not planning large breaking changes.

Yes, these are our existing unit tests (which are fairly comprehensive) running against our new implementation. Once we reach parity in tests we'll be close to release.

Well, it is funny even if true. I searched quickly and found a page that claimed there were 15 blue moons in 20 years so I wasn't sure.

I figure someone at Google thought it was funny to say that blue moons occur approximately every 1 / (1.16699016 × 10-8 hertz) = 992 days. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1%2F(1.16699016+%C3%97+...

To be fair, we do use a Twitter account called @reactjs and had two conferences called React.js Conf. So… yes, but it feels like a losing battle.

Yes, this is often-requested. We don't necessarily need to change JSX to add this to React though. With our current implementation it's a pain to support it but we're working on it.

Google almost certainly receives many thousands of applications for the position. It sounds like this particular "prescreen" may be badly designed, but after a prescreen you'd certainly expect to talk to more technically-lite

Can you say what changes would be required in React for this to work? I assume that you are asking for parent components to be on the stack when child components render, but that is simply not how React works – you return a description of w

I don't know much Clojure, but it sounds like this is exactly the use case that context is meant for. If you were to use dynamic scope, how would the variables be restored if one of the descendants updated via setState? It doesn't

Yes, you're generally correct. If you can call into ReactDOM.unstable_batchedUpdates at the top of the stack, that's another approach. We might be able to make that the default in the future so synchronous calls are always grouped

I'm not super rigid with all keys but I do seem to have "R with index finger" ingrained. R with the middle finger does work nicely in this case if I think about it and force myself to do it.

It's always been Michael and Ryan's project. They wanted to move it back out -- I assume to help promote their training business -- and that seems perfectly fair to me.

If you like React but want to avoid a build system, you can always do var form = React.createFactory('form'); form({...}, ...); or var e = React.createElement; e('form', {...}, ...);

There's nothing that requires it to have content, no. Absent other styles, an empty <span> would be invisible and have no effect though.
