RemoteSensing seems to be back up, with a link to http://libtiff.org as its purported new home. However looking at the mailing list, it seems this domain is not controlled by the developers.

I doubt it, actually. They have a history[1] of removing ports and features which seem unbelievable at the time, and then pushing forward with that decision, however unpopular. 1: Floppy drives, optical drives, MacBook Air ports, etc

I've heard this claim many times before, including about other actual tech hubs (Austin, Portland, ...). None of them have panned out to be true.

Millennial here. Opened my first credit card, a Discover student card, at 18 whilst in college. My credit limit was something awful, $1000 if I recall correctly. But the credit impact was immense. By charging a hundred bucks or two, and nev

What a joke. So they're abandoning an already-finalized construction plan in favor of a return to the "service" that was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clearwire ?

Presumably this is their attempt at being "nice" to the various users of IDFA, who often times key off the IDFA to store a value of a user profile, conversion event or other data. By using a fixed zero value, it allows said partie

I really hate this trend of packaging every web app into its own WebKit instance.

Full output of the experiment is here: https://goberoi.github.io/cloudy_vision/output/output.html I'm surprised by how good some of the CloudSight captions are.

Is this to imply that non-poaching agreements (e.g., "Great, you quit, don't talk to my employees") are equally void?

Here's an honest question. Knowing that non-competes are bogus and unenforceable in California - why do most employers (including mine) feel the need to tack them onto offer letters? Is it a matter of intimidation?

This is a very cool toy. As someone with no experience in ML, this is an interesting visual approach to the absolute basics. And great for challenging your friends in an epic battle of convergence!

This feels optimistically premature. Sure, it's been superseded, and it's great to move the ball forward. But somehow I think this legacy technology will be in use for a long, long time.

I honestly wonder if there should be some sort of signature or approval process on the OS vendor's part before any cert can serve as a root. I'm not sure what that would look like and I do realize there are some 'walled garde

I really don't like flash. It's full of security holes and its primary uses annoy the living hell out of me. So I only use a browser that has it when it's on my terms.
