German has not changed a lot since then, but perhaps more than English. I mistook some of the garbled words for some local/old dialect. The transcription is just really bad, but the original also seems to contain a lot of abbreviations

That's an old German dialect. Google Translate has not been trained on it.

Some part of the GUI in some menu like 'Settings > About' probably contains a wall of text of all licenses, curl being near the top as it begins with a 'c'.

The dropout regularization method for neural networks was sort of inspired by this observation, i.e. that recombination (combining genes of more than one individual) makes the resulting structures more robust [1]. The idea is basically that

> I'm all for inclusion, and as long as "inclusion" includes shy nerds I'm ready to support everyone else. How is a far-right party going to change that though? Society never liked nerds. It is in our genes to reject

MacSafe is probably also not as effective as it was advertised. I had a situations where the cord dragged the MacBook in the opposite direction of the MagSafe port and it almost fell of the table, and conversely I cannot remember having a s

You must admit that there is an underlying aggressive theme in games like StarCraft. The visuals show clear resemblance of people being killed by projectiles and by other war technology. The AI will be rewarded for skillfully decimating the

The part about entropy encoding only seems explain run-length encoding (RLE). Isn't the interesting aspect of making use of entropy in compression rather to represent rarer events with longer longer code strings? The fair coin flip is

Nice work. I'd be curious how this technique compares with other fast style transfer methods, if any exist.

I've also been annoyed by Amazon lately. I am not sure it has gotten worse over the time, but I am sure that there is a lot of potential for improvement. The product sites are horribly cluttered and often even load slowly (on a 5 y

Indeed. Until we can quantify nature's computational power and the computational complexity of evolving solutions to problems in nature, the only sensible response to the fact that evolution works extremely well is no response becaus

I don't think it is necessarily as easy as that. See for example this discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/MachineLearning/comments/4e2c3q/151...

I think the tournament vs. pair-bonding spectrum [1] might be very insightful with regards to this debate. The observation is basically that animals have different manifestations of sexual dimorphism and that there are very clear behavioral
