Replying to a (very good) counter argument with your original argument does not make your argument better nor does it bring the discussion forward. For my part, I'm very grateful to Marc for sharing his experience and thereby providing us w

Thanks, nice to get a refresher on the fifth normal form. Though in practice I have yet to see anything behind the third normal form used; "The Key, the whole Key, and nothing but the Key, so help me Codd"

I think this response plan by apple is appropriate because a) the bar dropping is as much a software problem which will be fixed and does not reflect accurately on the actual antenna capacity b) it _is_ a fact of life with built-in antennas

I listen to binaural beat loops ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats ). It works great. I use Holosync ( http://www.centerpointe.com/ ) for meditation and for short power-naps/quasi-meditation, I use Pzizz on my iPhone ( http://www

I wonder if I will be able to use the iPhone4 front-facing camera to do video over 3G here in Norway or if the iOS software will require a wifi connection. Anyone know? BTW, the US is really in a telecom-technical backwater. Cellphone users

What broke the argument and suspense for me was that there was no explanation of the Fermi paradox. With 14 million type 2 and 3 civilizations and billions on our level he need to address that paradox for the story to be interesting.

Nick Bostrom has written a paper about just that, arguing that we may be living inside a computer simulation. It's an interesting read. See http://www.simulation-argument.com/
