Thank you for posting this, and am reading it very closely. However, I can't quite follow what you're saying with the first point, which is probably my fault. Would you mind putting it in other words?

Not trying to nit-pick, just trying to confirm my own understanding. But actually, accelerating a mass from 1000km/hr to 2000km/hr should take three times as much energy as from 0km/hr to 1000km/hr, right? I assume the

But it seems to me that ReST does dictate, specifically, that there must be no need for shared state. The system must work without the client having knowledge of the server and vice versa. But a cookie, as used to hold a session token w

But isn't it a stretch to call the World-Wide Web an "API"? At least in the sense that most people use the term API?

I'm reading here that a big problem with many REST APIs is that they don't go all the way with the concept. They fall short of the total, so miss out on the overall benefit. But if there are any here who are strong advocates, I tr

For me, it drives me nuts because zealots do a lot of handwaving to get from "the web itself is RESTful!" to "and it's the best possible way to build an API".

Right. As I've heard it discussed, they've borrowed the term "honey-potting" for this in an almost exact analogue of how it is done on dating sites.

But for non-programmers, I would say that user-friendliness is very nearly everything . They are never going to keep the "simple" underlying model of an directed acyclic graph in their heads to let them intuit how to work with it

I am interested in trying this, but if I don't eat breakfast, I am sometimes so light headed by 11:00am that I am literally almost falling over and my brain doesn't function. Any advice or articles you'd recommend?

All systems within a medical establishment should be forced to work with a single-sign-on system. That might sound like a lot of effort for a small improvement, but I believe it would be the single highest value change that could be made.

That is certainly the more moral thing to do. But if it is really the most long-term profitable business strategy, then do we suppose that Uber is not only greedy, but imprudent? And that these two mistakes are canceling one another out? I

I likely agree with your sentiment, but I'm afraid I'm too ignorant to even realize there is any attempt at a joke. For my understanding of the culture, would someone mind explaining?

I think it depends entirely on the audience. If a word is appropriate, and your audience is comfortable with it, then not using it is detrimental. What if some of your audience knows the word? Then it's a judgement call.
