I think the "first" means being used in a consumer device. 802.11ac was there for a while. But none of big companies was making 802.11ac enabled laptop until Apple. Same thing here. It's not about who at when implemented it f

I think it's mostly to protect the "hirees". My Airbnb host used to "hire" a Japanese kid to water her garden without paying him a cent. She told him it was an "internship" for her design company, and she

If iOS is exposing the API, I believe it should at least provide a parameter whether it should be a MPTCP or a classic TCP. Sometimes you don't need that reliable trasmission; using MPTCP would cause unnecessary cellular data usage.

It doesn't make sure the nodes along the route do not drop the packets. Nodes along the route would see those packets as normal TCP packets (which is by design because in this way routers in between don't have to change). But both

That's really awesome. I'd like to know, though, whether the MPTCP is integrated into the mainstream API, or a special case for Siri. It's normal that only Siri generates MPTCP traffic since it requires both endpoint to suppo

Awesome! My favorite part is this: http://coreos.com/docs/pxe/#state-only-installation which would enable you to run CoreOS in memory only (loaded from PXE), but still store all of your containers on filesystem. I

You are right. But passphrase can be reset; fingerprint is permanent... EDIT: as to sensor complexity, if it can be built into a home button, it'll be implemented on other fingerprint readers. Before long, people would be collecting fi

I really don't think fingerprint as personal key is a good idea. It's not as private as your personal passphrase. A lot others might have it. (e.g. US Visa Office took my fingerprints when I was applying a Visa). If it's not

I don't think it's a good idea to use fingerprint as a way to authenticate. Fingerprint is not private data. By "private", I mean as private as a private GPG key. Any fingerprint is able to read a fingerprint as long as

Long distance is tempting, but it isn't necessarily a good idea. All kinds of wireless interference/collision will make available bandwidth really low. For example, on 2.4 GHz 802.11 protocols, there are 11 channels from 1 to 11.

I'm a bit confused. caption is supposed to be length of underlying array of a slice. What does it mean, concepturally, to create a new slice out of an existing one but with a different length of underlying array? Another thing is, mayb

The reason why I never had a GPG/PGP key is that I don't know where to put my private key. It's an identity that's supposed to reliably identify you. In other words, it is you. Computers can be hacked; cloud services are
