Isn’t better to drive slower on scenic roads to have more time to observe the scene? Or do you think there is an helicopter filming you from above like James Bond movies?

I don’t think that you are slow or not a good developer is the right conclusion. I think you focused on the wrong things. Like code coverage, CI, etc. You mentioned of being afraid of your codebase exploding in other comment. You know code

I think Bolsonaro is the worst democratic president Brazil ever had. I think he is the dumbest one too and I think he is personally responsible for a large percentage of avoidable Covid deaths in Brazil. I think he is corrupt too. But I thi

A falsifiable theory that led to a useful discovery (of oxygen, according to the Wikipedia article) seems nothing like string theory.

The power of confirmation bias. A factually incorrect comment on a tangential topic is still the number 1 comment after 3 hours just because it appeals to those who bemoan modern web development.

I missed a Hulk as strong as in the comics. I heard that they audience tested Hulk busting out of the Hulk-buster armor that Bruce Banner was using, but it didn’t test well.

My take: learning the fundamentals of the web and programming is essential to become a good senior software engineering some day, but knowing React is what gets me hired at junior positions.

I thought of that, but 40 root comments are a lot to go through. Not all of those are recent. The accusation that HN is not friendly to small lucrative endeavors seems very out of place to me and usually it’s just nitpick of very rare dismi

What comments can be “funny”? I just went through the top 40 comments on this post and I couldn’t see nothing but praise and congratulations (with a couple suggesting to raise prices, which I think are with good intent).

I don’t think it is important to think of any of that on early stages. All of those are, to me, the same type of distraction as deciding the color of the Maserati you will buy once you get rich with your startup. More introspective for sure
