Ok, I upvoted this post because there is something interesting in there, despite not liking the author's dismissiveness of "developers" and this obviously being an ad for their courses. Still, there is a valid, useful, action

I think the causality is that it was not great because Google did not care about improving it. So it got stuck in time and then Facebook kept improving. Even a strategy of copying Facebook’s innovations (like FB does in Instagram and WhatsA

I see Google also axing small winners in order to have people working on big bets . Undermining and then axing Orkut and then trying to create Google+ never made sense to me. A lot of non-brazilians non-indians (that didn’t use or even kne

I played it now for the first time ever for about 40 minutes and I agree. It is just trial and error until you get it right by chance. It is just annoying without any logic behind it. I read the tips after the 40 minutes and it confirmed th

I am not sure that perspective will be widely shared, I am not even sure if I agree myself, but I do appreciate this post as I consider myself a short fat engineer.

Well, ants do kill humans by themselves. Edit: I was just nitpicking the analogy, I agree that the “common folk vs hedge fund” narrative is totally delusional.

There was ”Hello to Hacker News” from one of the moderators, to which someone replied ”Hello from Hacker News” . No that much of a spam IMO. And it was from one person, not much all of ”guys” in HN

And they say that growth has correlation with the number of founders (up to 3 founders), so it makes sense as for VCs growth is basically the only thing that matters, not so much for bootstrappers.

I think that text was never supposed to be read. It is a print of the landing page of the platform the author built. I presume they would say just that and no would bother much trying to read it either.

For me is veeery easy to make the argument that this isn’t psychological, but only to the expected variance of tennis match results. It was you that had to carefully cherry-pick data to support your conclusion. I would only have to choose a

I start from the assumption that Federer’s career (even in 2012) is enough to prove that he has the mental strength and can perform at the highest level in stressful championship decisions. But the stronger reason to stop reading is that, i

Well, I stopped reading when it said that Federer ”has been choking” , losing due to a ”mental frailty” . It told me everything I need to know that there is nothing serious to be read and learned in this article.

Similar here. I took a 50% cut from a Director at an NGO to junior frontend developer (with a 8-month no earnings interval while I studied software development). Now, 4 years later, I am earning 6 times that pre-dev earnings.

There is no “we” trying to change. Individual people just start doing it, then it catches on, and then the meaning has already changed for a lot of people.

I think there is a type of nostalgia that doesn’t require having lived it before. I enjoy the feeling of going to 50s themed restaurants, despite not having lived in the 50s and not even raised in the US. Just movies influencing my taste.
