Do you run into games that don't do well past 16:9?

I think a lot of companies use software that wraps twitter. My company makes contact center software, and "twitter" is just another media type like calls or email.

Isn't GA just one line of code too? The only benefit I see is that Google doesn't have the data.

Because you have to do it on some level? How do you choose who to let go when for whatever reason you have to cut 10% of your staff?

Is it less risk to hire the open source guy? What if he spent a bunch of time at his last employer working on un-sanctioned projects? Will he do that to you as well? Just playing devil's advocate.

Yeah, RTP seems nice. My company has it's HQ in Indiana and a big office in RTP. Have considered moving many times...

Obviously it depends how much you make in each place. The argument most miss is that if you buy a place in SFO, that rent isn't throwaway, it's equity. Though I live in the Midwest. Was lucky to find a big salary here.

Agree 100%. So many people make lip service to SCALE at my company, but out of 20+ teams we are the only team running real scale tests against real defined limits with real (obfuscated) customer data.

My company uses CastLight and it is pretty great. It has been fairly accurate (+/- 10%) the few times I have used it.

I am in Indiana. We pay new grads about 70k. Senior software engineers (10y/xp) are earning 100-130k+bonus.

Don't you just pull out cash before you leave then? Stop by a bank ATM or by the bank if you need a different currency.

It's not that odd to me that inexperienced developers just don't "get it" yet about stuff like this. Maybe because I used to be (more) inexperienced and have opinions like this.

I agree, these probably aren't the best. Same as in programming. There are some great programmers that we all know and that are public figures. But the absolute best? Probably making high 7 figures working in a dark room somewhere.

Finding a job as a software engineering manager is actually pretty easy assuming you can still build software. At least it is in my experience. Most great engineers don't want to be a manager...
