I dabbled with worker threads in the past. It feels like you are orchestrating a bunch of node.js instances (workers) with one single threaded entry point, which is now your new bottleneck. It seems way easier and faster to instead start as

We use angular and are ok with it. There are tons of pros & cons for and against using angular. The biggest pro it being a very nice fully typesafe template engine.

Yes, it's a bummer that Apple has a deathgrip on 5nm and after that 3nm. Zen2 would be incredible on 5nm. IMHO the improvements we saw with geforce 30XX series and zen 2 were 80% the switch to 7nm tsmc. I'd fully expect another ju

We should let linters written javascript die IMO. ESLint is soooo slow. My hope is that the ecosystem will slowly shift to deno, and we just gonna use `deno lint` ( https://deno.land/manual/tools/linter , based on s

Maybe they want to lower it to 12+? If not, this change makes no sense. Aren't youtube & reddit clients also able to access nsfw content from within iOS apps?

What is going on with this comment section? Pointing fingers at Apple because discord wants that 12+ flag seems pretty unprofessional. If discord doesn't offer a second "17+" app, they just left a gap for a competitor to fill

The M1 changed the game. Measuring single core on an M1 may be counter productive. E.g. javascript runs on 2 to 3 cores at once even though it's single threaded. Thanks to running RISC instructions of a single process in parallel on mu

Can you elaborate on "nothing environmentally friendly about that vehicle"? I thought hybrid is the only sane approach as you can cover 90% of your trips electric with a small battery. Or is the fuel motor always on in this car?

I mean easier to try out and transitions into. Like vue even works without a build, just create an empty html page and import vue and you can fiddle away. Also angular wants to own the entire page, which makes transitioning parts of a page

Hey high five. I do as well :) Angular has botched the first 3 years of its existence with breaking changes every major release and catastrophic bundle size. And it shares the name with angular.js - one of the most dreaded frameworks of the

My recommendation: Remove zone.js, run angular in NoZone mode and use ngrx. Thats how we do it. Gets rid of all the headaches zone.js introduces, is way more predictable, build is smaller and just updates the components where data changes.

If you care about javascript bundle size you have to avoid everything that comes from google (besides angular core & common of course). Material, animations, cdk, ... everything is just horrendously over engineered and nothing optimized

I hope Lex stays this way. The only interview podcast I know of where most of the focus is on the guest. The way he talks, listens and follow up on what the guest says lets me fully engage in the thoughts of the interviewee.

IMO it's the beauty of webpack that they are dogfooding their own APIs and even the basics are implemented as plugins & loaders. Maybe out there is a better way to design a bundler api. But up until now I only see a flood of one-cl

It's quite amusing that there is nothing official about this from Apple, but so many blogs & vlogs talking like it's inevitable. Maybe they just transition to AMD CPUs and nearly nothing changes at all :)
