Agreed about packages - you can no longer make custom updates to them to them either if they are installed via the package manager. They didn't think through their package manager before rolling it out. And now that it's out, it&#

I would also try to completely redesign how mobile builds work in Unity. Instead of Unity creating a brand new xcode / android studio project every build - it should be able to take an existing xcode / android studio project and j

This is the least of Unity's problems. Unity doesn't dogfood their own engine. Unity does not develop any games themselves. This is completely unlike Unreal, who has always released games using their own engine. Unity doesn't

Yeah... in any conversation about how to preserve and protect our water, lawns will be the 1st thing to go. And good riddance too! They are utterly useless.

That's one of my complaints too. But, you can use this kind of trick to get around it and make your code more readable: sub pretty_print { my ($filename, $text, $text_width) = @_; Not as good as if it was just built into th

I like the author's list. Very solid and some of the same arguments I try to use when people tell me they don't want to ever mess with Perl because it's unreadable. I still haven't found another language as easy and fast

Ashes To Ashes podcast just had a great episode about facial recognition, the faults in the system, why we should care about it, and what you can do to fight it. It's pretty good if you're interested in this topic: https:/&#

Totally. As a devout Anti-theist I really wish I could join some kind of secular group that was identical to a church but without the religion. Go every Sunday with my family, socialize with the folks, have potlucks and events, help people

You're spot on. Anything that increases your exposure to strangers and builds trust will be a boon to society. This is also the case with social clubs and sports leagues. Membership of these things has been in decline for decades and i

What I'm saying is that A list people will use these same techniques to make QUALITY movies at a budget that makes it economically viable to release to a smaller streaming audience.

I think "Movies", as we remember them from the decades of yore, will have a resurgence in the near future due to 2 things: 1) The demand for movies outside of what the streaming services are making. 2) Most aspects of movie produc

In principle, yes, but in reality, you can't use a different app store or payment provider. If you buy a Google Android phone, you have the Google Play Store. That's it. Maybe you can install some other store but 99% of consumers

Yeah, good point. I don't disagree with that. On the flipside, bad acting will ruin any movie too, no matter how good everything else is.
