Sure, but traffic control problems can still be caused (temporarily) by abuse of the frequency/protocol by those intending to cause disruption. Can you tell me more about the fake signals? Who sends them? Why? How often?

ICE aren’t law enforcement and can’t legally effect traffic stops. Their orders to Good were not lawful as they had no PC related to immigration violations.

ADS-B is packet data telemetry broadcast unencrypted and unauthenticated by aircraft on 1090MHz. Anyone can receive it, and many do. FlightRadar and others have networks of people with receivers that forward all received packets to central

I am not being sarcastic at all. It is a common misconception that propaganda means lies. Propaganda is information designed to get you to believe a certain thing or feel a certain way. The best propaganda uses entirely truthful statement

Compare the security resources of the median OS publisher with the median go package publisher. An OS update from Debian, Apple, or Microsoft is not the same thing as a new version tag on a random go CLI app made by one person (or even a te

Unsigned binaries on macOS have slowly but surely been marginalized more and more with scarier and scarier warnings and harder hoops to jump through. You can enable execution in the system settings “Privacy and Security” pane. I’m sure thi

“go install” does not have an update mechanism. I imagine most people using it would consider such an anti-feature; it is not a package manager. I certainly don’t want programs I “go install” to change underneath me without notice or revie

> The tech is open source and free forever - thats somehow a problem? The company monitised enterprise features, while keeping core and hub free - also a problem? Docker Desktop, among other things, is not open source and is not free.

Docker is only successful because of free software: the foss docker daemon, the foss docker cli client, and of course linux. Docker tried to become a proprietary software company, which is rude and user-hostile.

Yes, yes, and yes. Is it an intentional mischaracterization to conflate not wanting wealth redistribution with “others not having nice things”? “others not having nice things” is a superset of “others not having unearned nice things”.

I have often considered making a set of scripts to do just exactly this (after disabling the SSV so that the system can be modified). It would be no less secure than any modern or common linux OS, which do not use a read only signed root.

I’d use macOS. Application sandboxing, per directory access controls, signed read only root, xprotect and gatekeeper - security out of the box on common linux OSes is a joke compared to modern macOS.

Out of the box, macOS is substantially more secure than any common linux OS.

Disabling SSV puts your system security on par with any stock linux distro. Most OSes don’t do a cryptographically verified read only root.

You should really consider why free software exists. Open source is open source, sure, but it is a disservice to your users to ever release proprietary software for any reason. I personally would not start or run a business that didn’t rel

WiFi still lacks forward secrecy, and SNI is still almost never encrypted. I think at least the former is intentional.
