Unfortunately, "all operating systems" are not actually within the scope of the bill; only designated gatekeepers. Apple recently pulled out this clause to argue that only iOS needed to adhere to the Digital Market Act. Platforms

This sounds a little too familiar to the "IPFS would work as a video service" argument that was so vehemently annihilated. Look, I hate copyright and download my own Fair Use archives of many YouTube videos. I'm the last pers

I'm not saying this post-capitalist hellscape is a good thing. I'm saying that this failure was preordained since the middle class was sustained entirely on the goodwill of the upper class. Of course it will shrink when profitabil

Society is already ruined, just not as dramatically or widespread. Having grown up on the outskirts of Detroit, I can personally attest to the fact that there are already places where 10% are the "haves" and 90% are the "have

I am not an expert, but I believe it still requires some manufacturer effort on Linux. I bought an Alder Lake system pretty close to launch, and I had to wait a few months for kernel-side Thread Director[0] to fix asymmetric scheduling. Per

Yeah, that's what threw me for a loop. It's not really a significant shrink on-die, though it would be interesting to see how 4c-only machines perform for their power budget. All in all a weird showing, but not entirely unexpected

You can edit video on an iPad with 4gb of RAM, for all the power and comfort it's worth to you. For $1600, in 2023, a Pro machine ought to treat the user better. This thing is like those 4gb Macbook Pros, with the cruel twist that yo
