Would go FastAPI for new projects. Either is good if what you are building is something small and very focused or if you already know exactly what you want to build and want to have freedom making decisions about most aspects of the applica

I think the other hard truth that citizens don't get entrusted with, is that we don't really know how to deal with a pandemic in the modern globalized world. Sure, some countries had plans and scenarios made before, but nonetheles

It seems web development devolves more and more from "use the right tool for the job" and KISS (not that it ever fully was either) to "use all the tools you can find for the job" and focus on process instead of product.

Agreed. It is a very noisy country, wherever there are humans. There are neighborhoods / streets that are on average nicer, but you are as you mentioned not in control of it. The street I live in is actually almost dead quiet at night.

So compared to Switzerland many day to day things you want get done are just less convenient, less straight forward, less predictable. Getting from A to B, buying exactly what you want vs. what is available, making contracts, lack of consum

Agreed. But even on HN I don't follow the news items that much. I enjoy the more timeless topics much more. But I like the aggregator style because with a quick glance over the title I become aware of things. For example, oh, Python 3.
