Are people that fuzzy? Of course I know my share of people that really obsess over it, own all the gear and everything in the process is strictly weighted, timed and temperature controlled. But most people seem to primarily care about it tasting as they are used to whatever level of quality that might be. So making a coffee that tastes “ordinary” seems a sensible target.
