Well, congratulations on Facebooking more intelligently than most, I guess?

Thank you. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only person out there who has used the "unfriend" button before. I've deleted hundreds of people; many of whom I only met for one night 5 years ago or didn't even talk to way back in high schoo

Would you mind going a little more in depth about VP8? Last I heard it was supposedly amazing but that was awhile ago.

Wat? OSX is an open source OS (at the kernel level and more) but its UI isn't. Also, are you actually implying that you would've downloaded the Gentoo source, sifted through the source until you found the file with the bug, then debugged

These "crazy, confusing things" these mobile app devs are trying are expanding the way we use applications. Making apps gesture-based has lead Google Maps (for iOS), Clear, and even Facebook (swipe down closes image) to have much more intu

As someone who has used all three major platforms extensively, I think I could shed some light on this. iOS has the "absolute best apps" because of the level of polish, design, and near-pixel-perfect elements visible in the apps. I've used

On your first point, do you think the corporate tumblr's have lead to commercial success? All I've seen so far as far as company tumblr's go are Denny's and National Geographic so I don't think I could make a valid assertion on the subject

I thank you for the feedback and the great insight but I'm not terribly sure how I miss your point? The first point discusses how the users are able to shed their exterior, show who they truly feel they are, and that it's not possible to d

I've installed both the pre-release leak and the one released today on my Nexus 7. Try being less of a condescending "power user" and then we could have a discussion.

"I'd say there isn't grouching about the 'redesign' so much as 'Where the eff is my Android?'." People shouldn't be asking that; they're installing a launcher. Do people ask that when they install LauncherPro? I thought people generally u

Really? I would hope the users at HN would be more inclined to understand the needs of those permissions rather than fear mongering. You know the features of Home and you should know that to accomplish those features, it needs those permi

How is that even possible? 256GB SSDs just came down to less than a dollar per gig. I'm sure flash chips are priced separately but even 64 gb USB 3.0 flash cards can't be had for less than $40, it seems.

Are you serious? This was revealed over two weeks ago and Apple fixed it that day, I believe. This isn't "new" and this doesn't exist any more.

Except for the fact that comScore knows what it's doing while this article doesn't. I'm gonna trust comScore on this one because it just makes sense. The iPhone 5 came out and HTC, Motorola, and Samsung's new flagship phones have yet to be

That's the real benefit of Apple's gloss; it makes apps feel welcoming and friendly. Apps with only function and utility in mind end up feeling cold.

Thank you for being the sane one here. This "engineer" didn't even understand that Apple doesn't write the drivers and "BIOS" for the card; how can I take his rant seriously? Not to mention he started it with "my computer has been acting

So, uh, you had to restart the device? You're specifically talking about placing the phone in DFU mode which is restarting the phone and holding the home button while it's turning on. I really don't mean to sound crass, but that's hardly

I didn't mean to make jailbreaking sound "easy" or exaggerate the effort involved but my point still stands; to jailbreak iOS, the end user only really needs to do one step. Sure, there are versions without jailbreaks and there are updates

Well, jailbreaking an iDevice usually takes one click or a visit to a website. I was just noting that many people forget that "rooting" is, in principal, the exact same as jailbreaking.

Sigh, this comment makes me kind of sad. It shows a lack of understanding of the tinkerer/hacker mindset. People enjoy doing what they're told not to. Half the fun of owning an Android phone is overhauling the UI, flashing a completely di

Blech, I'm so tired of hearing people complain about Apple's "closed ecosystem." Seriously, we get it; you don't like buying a device you don't have absolute control over. Though, you do realize that a lot of people LOVE buying closed syst
