I wouldn't say that HFT arbs out only the "obvious" things. We try to arb the non obvious things as well, with more or less success. HFT just means you trade a lot and you have low tick to trade latency. It doesn't say m

Things like BTC swaps don't really have settlement periods: every so and so numbers of often (often 1 or 8), longs pay shorts using some premium formula is swap > index, and vice verse if swap < index. I suppose you could constru

Don't really think this is true. For example had quite a hard time picking up kdb+/q, and none of the tens of languages I had previously encountered really helped much.

I'm lazy and dumb it's true, but I like ordering off of Amazon for most things. I just don't really care about the 99% of things I am forced to buy in order to live a somewhat comfortable existence. The most important thing I

I like beets, but sometimes you need to clean up the tags. A long time ago I made a curses based tagger where you can clean up tags. I still use it today and imo, It's the best tag editor on the market! https://github.com&#x

There's of course a ton of luck involved but you won't get struck by lightning by sitting at home. I've tried to increase my "luck" by forcing myself to do things that have an asymmetric payoff: meeting new people,

Bucket shops have historically offered high leverage, something that is not possible when buying equities outright. There's a whole gamut of different kinds of bucket shops, some being on the less shady side others on the outright take
