There's of course a ton of luck involved but you won't get struck by lightning by sitting at home.
I've tried to increase my "luck" by forcing myself to do things that have an asymmetric payoff: meeting new people, writing blog posts, saying yes to things, etc
It's worked pretty well so far!
- MaximumYComb 5y agoI increased my luck by making five year goals, thinking about what behaviours I'd need to adopt to reach these goals and then making those activities a priority. I'm incredibly successful by my own metrics now and I'm very happy with how my life is turning out. Doing what you need to do and not what is easy pays huge dividends.
