I love this type of highly-opinionated design thoughts. At work we have a pretty complex UI that seems a little bit inescapable to me (hard to keep legible due to complexity, etc.) Could I get you to critique it? https://sourcegr

I don't think there's any issue monetizing a chronological timeline. The issue for them I imagine is retention: with chronological, it's likely that when you visit Twitter the first few messages you see are not interesting an

That GPU-based subdivision surfaces being ~10X faster is a welcome improvement! Subdivision surfaces have always been so slow, those are some incredible gains!

I don't understand this? Blender has world-class training material provided for free. Between the stuff they themselves offer[0] and the literally thousands of training videos on YouTube.. what do you think is missing? [0] https:/

I've only heard great things about Bevy, and their community is awesome. Highly recommend looking into it if you like Rust! They also just had a huge gamejam with something like ~70 submissions. Impressive stuff! I'm super excited

How do you define "compatible"? Semver doesn't define it. An HTTP server can remain API compatible, and still drop or break support for a major feature you care about. Surely you don't want that to ship in a patch releas

Can't say historical, but 1,000 μsv/year is the annual limit / point at which increase cancer risk exists. Fukushima disaster levels were 400,000 μSv/h at peak. Short term dose of 10,000 μSv causes radiation sickness bu

Crazy how often this catches undefined behavior. Compiling GLFW with Zig we've found like ~4 separate UB issues, one I described here[0] Wish it could default to on with clang, but probably it'd break too many things. Really wonde

Note however Zig actually provides libSystem.tbd stubs out of the box, so you can cross-compile from any OS to macOS too as long as you only depend on libSystem (the macOS libc.) If you need the rest of the Apple SDK, then you'd need a

I'm confused, you believe that web developers have a trend of dismissing newer technologies and resistance to change? Have I missed something or..?

Would this be the case if you just used the `free(3)` syscall, and didn't otherwise touch the memory? I can imagine destructors in most languages involving touching the memory, just curious if a free syscall alone does it or not.

Spotify uses Cloudflare, right? I think Cloudflare should just block the pages. Or maybe we petition those hosting Spotify servers & ISPs to ban the pages. Actually, should spotify be resolvable by any DNS server hosted by a company? Hu

What a bizarre claim. Prometheus scrapes the same text format as OpenMetrics 1.0 and over 700 public exporters use this format, and there are TONS of other non-Prometheus software that consume the exact same text format. Prometheus's b
