What I find funny is that YouTube knows who I am and where I live (English-speaking Canada), but every now and then I go through a short time period (a few days) where most of the ads are in French (for Canada).

I also wonder how many paid users they have. Seems like the starting price is USD $12/mo, which IIRC, costs more than my Office 365 Personal subscription.

I had a video game store when Hackers came out, and one of my regulars, a kid, came in and said he wanted to get a modem so he could start hacking just like in the movie. I don't know that anyone walking out of Hamilton wants to be Ham

You make it sound like none of these things exist. Sveltekit is part of the NodeJS ecosystem, and there are mature libraries that do many of those things. The only thing is that Sveltekit isn't force feeding any particular library down

For the background jobs, you can implement that in the hooks file using your node scheduling library of choice.

Sounds like SvelteJS is a better option for you than Sveltekit.

If the Svelte subreddit is any indicator, a lot of Sveltekit devs don't use the Sveltekit back end. Most like to use serverless and 3rd party services for things like authentication and data storage.

Who is shunning that person? Nobody's trying to get them fired or boycotted, so where is this "cancelling" happening?

You can see it here: https://radar.braintapper.com - it's hosted on the cheapest possible VPS, so it's obviously not scalable (was public for friends and family, but I guess we're all friends here, haha) The origi

This is great. I also made an "audience of one" list manager that I've been using for over a year. It's very specific to my personal preferences (so very different from what you built) and like yours, desktop only.

I've been using Sveltekit, which offers a back end server if you use their `node-adapter`. Sveltekit uses an intuitive file based routing system, so for side projects at least, you can build out an app/POC very quickly. Personally

Yes, it's very similar to that. I looked at Pollen a while back to see if there were any ideas I missed, but while Pollen has a different approach to variable naming, it was very similar to what I do.

With Svelte, I just maintain a small reset file and maintain a list of native CSS variables that I can use from my Svelte components. I have not personally found the need to use Tailwind because of that.

If you're using Svelte, you don't really need Tailwind (but are obviously free to use it), especially if you're using your own components. Svelte's styling is already pretty atomic as it is. With Svelte, I use a small gl

What I'd love to see is an extension for VSCode that can do wysiwym/wysiwyg Markdown editing while keeping the same keyboard shortcuts of VSC. There is a "Typora" knockoff extension for vsc that does some of what I want,

My favorite feature of Sveltekit is probably the server-side endpoints. It's so easy to create an API using them.
