I upgraded from a 2015 MBP with 16gb of ram to a M3 Pro with 36gb. It’s a night and day difference, the machine is much more responsive and I mainly use it 30 min a day, or sometimes for a few hours in a row. And charge about once per week,

Ripgrep is probably my favorite command line tool (which replaces older solutions). It’s just so quick to search a folder for a specific line of text in a file.

That requirement is for 4k60 Log only. 4k30 log will write to disk but takes up around 100mb/sec. From some videos I shot last weekend.

Having the MagSafe and the Thunderbolt 3/4 ports is a great combination. it's a welcome change on the road to have magsafe but I use TB3 at home with a dock.

Having used schema based sharding in postgres before, I hope citus has a way around connection pooling and pgbouncer, as if you use pgbouncer transaction pooling your search_path could disappear at any time.

Postgres for anything with a single database size < 4TB. But if you need something that can handle 100TB+, go Vitess(mysql compatible).
