I glanced at your code examples and it looks quite similar to ByteBuddy[0], a Java library for manipulating JVM bytecode. [0]: https://github.com/raphw/byte-buddy

A "with" statement can't redefine control structures in JS or any of those languages. See SICP 4.1 definition of "eval", this is more like reifying "env" to the function being evaluated.

True status is your impact on the world, both realized and potential. Being able to waste thousands of meals' worth on food for a mundane everyday item is a cheap approximation of that.

Being near the higher end of that age range, I distinctly remember that I stopped being a happy kid once I started using the Internet (at around age 12) even before addictive algorithmic feeds. This statistic does not surprise me in the sli

Equating physical property (subject to scarcity) and digital property is what ends up destroying the foundation of freedom in computing. Can we not perpetuate this way of thinking and instead find better ways to support creators?

The "search" process for your brain structure took 13 billion years and 20 orders of magnitude more computation than we will ever harness.

So you're saying everyone (or almost everyone) has the potential to be great, we just need to give them the opportunity. Maybe if we go a little farther and say no one, at birth, inherently deserves more opportun.. oops, we're bac

The very beginning of this lecture exposes it as complete rubbish. > Nietzsche thinks this book is gonna be wasted on most of you, but for his rightful readers, it will free you to achieve greatness. Nietzsche wrote his books to cultivat

I wonder what it would take to mathematically prove that consciousness can't be reduced to elementary math. Probably some kind of insane proof by contradiction.

I don't even know how to respond to this. Stating facts is fearmongering? Eugenicists? It looks like you've gone off the deep end on this.

Stunning lack of empathy (and a healthy dose of DRTFA) on display in the comments. The point isn't that undesirables get cleaned up during Olympics, it's that it's being done in a way that's not humane. There are support
