Are you sure this isn't only possible because of the PDF file format? http://shattered.it/static/pdf_format.png Hence shouldn't be possible for general malware.

Because controlling the visual appearance would change the data of the PDF, hence change the underlying hash.

But you can't control the data in the malware. It will be garbage.

I don't understand how this solution differs from actual side-effects managing libraries such as redux-saga or redux-cycles. Network requests are certainly side-effects and putting all their logic together with your Container code seem

My field of interest is censorship resistant systems. Systems like ZeroNet[1] are quite fascinating and are quickly becoming popular and used. Essentially they're decentralized via the bittorrent network. One cool thing that it brings

Learning Functional Reactive Programming (FRP) paradigms. Combining pure functions with reactive concepts (where variables change as their values change) is something that sparks my interest. Also the idea of chaining functions together to

I'm always confused about our priority for us to become a multi-planetary species. Planets are interesting to us for their resources, but they provide a far greater risk: they're another huge gravity well. This means that it'

You could say this for literally every single feature that got implemented in a language. Eventually a language needs to change and get better and it does it through small incremental changes as ES is doing. Future developers will only use

I don't think you understand how WebTorrent works. WebTorrent in fact works with the regular BitTorrent network if you run it from node, and falls back to use WebRTC when used in the browser. So you can seed those torrents directly in

What would be interesting to reduce the memory footprint is to split Chromium and only include stuff you actually need in your app. For instance, Chromium comes with backwards-compatibility code for websites of the 90s (that use tables and

I think backend will move more towards streaming endpoints (WebSockets). Already with concepts such as Observables we're building apps entirely around streams of events. So to me the connection between frontend and backend will just be

If KickAss decides to share their dump using their public key, it becomes much harder to censor because of how the DHT system works. Authorities would need to shut down all the nodes that republish that public key on the DHT, which is incre

Torrent sites could publish their database dumps via this extension, and consumers would automatically download their updated index. A torrent can be anything; it can also be a list of other torrents ;) So it does help with content discover
